Hi Every body:

Happy New Year to you. I am very proud of you serving in the Dong-In. Many many years ago I went to Dong-In island for 3 years service. I belong to an alltilary team on a high hill. I miss this island very much. At that time the conditions were very poor, we even did not have enough water and electricity. No taxi and bus at all. We could not come back to Taiwan, until you have a training or the ending of service. I was very impressed by the advance and efforts they made for this tinny island.

前幾天我來貴鄉訪問，到達的那天清晨，在平靜的海面鼓棹前進，東引和西引兩個熟悉的島影，映入眼簾。就在這一刻，薄薄的曉霧裊裊而來，像一幅輕紗，滑到海面，無數道的陽光，透過輕紗般的曉霧，映上海波，照耀島上，把東引西引襯托得更見清晰，更見雄渾之美。 當天我乘船離開之際，回頭看到街道上、山坡下、碼頭邊、房屋前，到處都有民眾和戰友向我揮手，我揮舞起雙手向大家道別；這時舉起頭來，成群的海鷗，又盤旋在我的上空，久而不去，離情依依，我內心油然激動，不能自己。極目遠眺，彤雲四合，海浪有聲，東引西引這兩個勇敢的小島，東西相峙，有如不畏驚濤駭浪、不畏巨風暴雨的壯大，屹立如山，雄峙海上。(by Mr. Chiang Jien-Koug, March 1974)

      

早年也沒有電話，跟台灣通訊只能用寫件，每七天或十天一班運補艦。

的確我有離開東引近8 年，當時的環境有太多該進步的空間了
而現在雖然已經是夠幸福了，還是有人會覺得不滿意
我想，這就是驅使人類進步的力量之一吧！！
