I am going to spend 清明節 exploring Matsu islands. It is my first time going there and really looking forward to this trip. It would be nice to meet and talk to local people. If someone has time and is interested in meeting, please let me know. No worries, I am not looking for a guide.
Unfortunately, my Chinese is very poor. It is not good enough to have a good conversation. I am sorry.

Happy fools' day !
Welcome to My Hometown Matsu,the out-seaside of Ming River , a forgotten a string of lost pearls in the ocean. I do not know how many days you are going to stay in Matsu , Right now, a foggy season began, not the best time for tourism , it could be ''rainy days'' in Matsu , another way of feeling different kind of Matsu, , if you have decided the plan and the most important thing is that your time have to be free.
I recommended the tour schedule planned for you , as follows:
The first day , please take the TaiMa-Star ship from Keelung harbor to Tong-Yin island , the most northern island of Matsu , stay 2 days at Tong-yin island, as for tourism points please refer tourism manuals at entrance lobby of Tong-yin , but, the Tong-yin Lighthouse is the best place you must be visiting ,it placed on the east seashore of Tong-yin , if the permission acceptable , you can sleep at the rooms of warehouse located at the back side of Tong-Yin lighthouse , you can view the beautiful seashore at night and please wake-up early in the next day ,continuing your schedules at Tong-yin island , the most northern smaller island of free China , Taiwan.
The 3rd day ,morning 5:30 waiting for TaiMa-Star ship arrived at Tong-Yin, loading you to Nan-Gang island , the biggest island in Matsu , political -economic center of Matsu, the population of Nan-Gang estimated over 7,000 people, 70% of total Matsu people lived at Nan-Gang , only one day stay in Nan-Gang for boat transferring to other islands , take a fast viewing at Nan-Gang from the west-side of Matsu Harbor to the east-side of Nan-Gang airport like riding on a horse back to view quickly all the flowers in the garden of Nan-Gang .
The 4th day , boarding a smaller boat shipped to Chu-Guang islands, southern side of Nan-Gang, there are 2 islands at Chu-Guang , Tong-Chu(East Chu-Guang island ) and Si-Chu(West Chu-Guang island ), first to Si-Chu, ,visit San-Hai-I-Gia, the office of CIA in 1954 ,all the devices and equippments made by American CIA , this smaller Si-Chu west island once a time called smaller Hong-Kong in 60 years ago , stay one night to feel American style life or historical Hong-Kong style life ,who knows ,you can feel it.
The 5th day to Tong-Chu, (east Chu-Guang island ) ,first choice to see another famous Lighthouse founded in 1872,Tong-Chu lighthouse , then ship back to Nan-Gang afternoon ,check in cheaper hotel near Fu-Ao harbor at Nan-Gang ,NT600 to NT 800
One night , other hotel holders could be killing me because I reveal the secret of low price accommodation.
The 6th days morning boarding to Bei-Gang ,(the meaning of North-pole in Chinese like Nan-Gang is South-pole in Chinese,but , a different pronunciation with the south pole in the Earth ), Bei-Gang is the 2nd largest island in Matsu,Climbing the highest mountain named Bi-San( Green Mountain) at Bei-Gang , looking forward far-away of Red China when you are at the top of Matsu Bi-San( Green Mountain),down directly from Bi-san to Ching-Bi, famous for all kinds of Ming-dong style construction and buildings ,many movies played here,like a movie star if you are here, last to see the airport of Bei-Gang , the first airport in Matsu , please notice the runway of Bei-Gang airport , like a knife cutting cross through the beautiful sea .
The 7th day, back to the Nan-Gang (South-Pole), last chance to make a conclusion visiting in Matsu, go everywhere around a circle at Nan-Gang,please help yourself enjoy all kinds of Ming-dong styles delicious snack foods , takes time rush to Yun-Tai-San(Cloud platform Mountain) , the 2nd highest mountain(249 meters in height) in Matsu, there is a Supreme operational command center , play yourself like a Matsu Supreme operational commander, personally involved in the battle plans, only one day stay , the Matsu Wine Distillery is the Must be , happy to Matsu Distillery, drinking the best wine with alcohol 47%, sorghum liquor, if drunk, Nan-Gang Airport the near neighborhood ,boarding the flight and flew back to Taipei.

Yes, I know the islands are beautiful. I saw many photos and read stories about Matsu people and they made me want to come.
I found this page when looking for hotels and information about ferries. It was very useful!
My plan:
Friday (today): arrive to 南竿 in the evening
Saturday: 南竿
Sunday: 東引
Monday: 東莒
Tuesday: short time 西莒 and then back to 南竿
Wednesday early morning: back to Taipei
